First of its kind in gaming.
What if your phone wasn’t just a screen for playing a game, but the controller that brought its world to life?
Created for Warner Bros.’ Jupiter Ascending, Caine’s Quest invited fans to step into the role of Caine Wise on a mission through the film’s futuristic universe.
Built using WebGL and WebSockets, the browser-based 3D game split the action across two devices. Players explored levels on their desktop while using their phones to aim and fire holographic weapons, then physically raising their devices to block incoming attacks.
The interaction made the phone an extension of the game rather than a second screen, turning two everyday devices into a coordinated control system.
As Creative Director, I led the concept and creative direction, bringing together film storytelling, browser-based 3D and unconventional controls to create a distinctive way to engage with the franchise.
